In a remarkable feat at the 20th National Junior Athletic Championship in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, Mehdi Hasan, hailing from Barpeta Road, clinched the bronze medal in the fiercely contested 1500 meters race, clocking an impressive time of 3:49:78. Son of Abul Kalam Azad and Hasina Khatun, Mehdi has consistently showcased his prowess on the track, having previously secured a bronze in the 20th Asian Athletic Championship in South Korea. Adding to his list of accolades, Mehdi emerged victorious in the National Federation Cup Junior 2020 held in April in Tamil Nadu, where he proudly claimed the gold in the 1500 meters race. This latest achievement reinforces Mehdi's dedication and talent in the realm of junior athletics, bringing pride not only to Barpeta Road but also to the entire sporting community.
